Titouan Boyer (MAF), 17, y Ariane Ochoa (EUK), 17 son los ganadores del inaugural Pro Junior en Biscarrosse el día de hoy en olas de dos a tres pies afectadas por el viento. Un día final de surfing maratonico de 28 heats tanto para hombres y mujeres.

En una excitante final masculina entre Marco Mignot (FRA), Titouan Dubos (MTQ), Titouan Boyer (MAF) y Ruben Vitoria (EUK). Boyer con su backside fue el que primero subió a liderar el heat con un solido 7.57 y se sostuvo en el liderazgo con su otra mejor puntuación 6.83. A pensar de los múltiples esfuerzos de Mignot el más cercano alcanzar a Boyer, no fué suficiente para sobrepasarlo y Titouan Boye se hace con el primer lugar del JQS en Biscarrosse.

“Antes de hoy yo no había ganado ningún evento en mucho tiempo, así que es un gran placer para mi” Comento Boyer. ” Yo me lesione el año pasado y estuve fuera durante cinco meses por la lesión en mi rodilla, ahora vuelvo con un buen nivel y ganar el evento es increíble. Ahora que el tour ha ido bajo los 18 años tenemos un buena oportunidad como jóvenes surfers a tener experiencia antes del inicio del QS.”

Con este triunfo y 1000 puntos en el ranking, Boyer sube hasta el primer lugar del JQS Europeo junto a Thomas Debierre (GLP), quien sufrió una temprana salida hoy en el Round 5.

Por su parte en la final femenina fué más cerrada con Teresa Bonvalot (PRT), Nina Reynal (FRA) y Neis Lartigue (FRA) todas intercambiando bajas puntuaciones en las complicadas condiciones. Ariane Ochoa (EUK) comenzó muy fuerte con un impresionante 8.17 y luego un 5.73 manteniéndose en la primera posición hasta sonar la corneta final.

Titouan Boyer (MAF), 17, and Ariane Ochoa (EUK), 17, have won the inaugural Junior Pro Biscarrosse today in wind-affected two-to-three foot conditions. A marathon final day picked up where we left off on the second day of competition to complete 28 heats of both the men and women’s events.

In an exciting men’s final, Marco Mignot (FRA), Titouan Dubos (MTQ), Titouan Boyer (MAF) and Ruben Vitoria (EUK) all threaded fun little waves at the start to exchange the pole position.

Boyer on his backhand was the first to really step things up with a combination of two powerful gauges for a 7.57 and a firmer hold on the lead with his solid backup of 6.83. Despite multiple efforts from his closest competition in Mignot, Boyer was never really threatened and walked away with his maiden JQS win in Biscarrosse.

“Before today I hadn’t won an event in a long time so the pleasure is immense,” he stated. “I got injured last year and was out for almost five months due to an injury on my right knee so to come back to a good level and take out the event is awesome. Now that the tour has gone to under-18 we have a great opportunity as the younger surfers to get some experience towards starting the QS soon after, it was definitely much much harder in the last few years.”

With his win today and the allocated 1,000 ranking points, Boyer climbs all the way up to N°1 on the European JQS tied with Thomas Debierre (GLP), who suffered an early exit in Round 5 today.

The women’s final was a lot tighter with Teresa Bonvalot (PRT), Nina Reynal (FRA) and Neis Lartigue (FRA) all exchanging low scores in the complicated lineup. Ariane Ochoa (EUK) started much stronger, much like Boyer, to score an impressive 8.17 on her backhand as well, move into first and keep the lead until the final horn.
