Estimados Atletas,

Con gusto la Asociación Panamericana de Surf (PASA, por sus siglas en inglés) anuncia las fechas oficiales de los PANAMERICANOS CLARO OPEN 2015.

Del 2 al 6 de diciembre próximo, en la perfecta ola de Punta Rocas en Lima, Perú, se realizará la máxima competencia de Surfing en el continente americano, donde se coronará a los nuevos campeones por equipos e individuales de las Américas.

Este evento será la primera prueba para los equipos de la región con miras a la clasificación a los Juegos Panamericanos Lima 2019. Durante esta competencia se efectuarán reuniones entre los dirigentes de todas las Américas y de la PASA, para decidir la forma y lugar donde se realizarán las pruebas clasificatorias a Lima 2019.

Para esta ocasión, PASA se une a la Asociación Latinoamericana de Surfistas Profesionales (ALAS), para dar a los competidores la oportunidad de ganar premios en efectivo durante la competición, así como puntos válidos para el ranking del Tour Latinoamericano.

Este será un evento abierto, cualquier competidor del continente puede inscribirse y participar mediante su federación nacional.

Para que un atleta pueda participar por los premios en efectivo, el único requisito es pagar la inscripción correspondiente a la categoría en que desea competir. Sin embargo, si un participante únicamente desea competir en el evento Panamericano, sin derecho a premios en efectivo, su participación será completamente gratuita.

Se repartirá 20 mil dólares en premios para la categoría Open y en las demás disciplinas se repartirá el total de las inscripciones a los 4 finalistas.

Todas las inscripciones para el CLARO OPEN 2015 se deben realizar mediante el sitio web de ALAS (haz clic aquí).

Nuestro amado deporte atraviesa una época dorada y grandes cambios positivos se aproximan. Las buenas noticias iniciaron en julio anterior, cuando en la Asamblea General de la Organización Deportiva Panamericana se votó a favor de la inclusión del Surfing en los próximos Juegos Panamericanos, programados a realizarse en Lima, Perú, en el año 2019.

Y en setiembre, la organización de Tokio 2020 recomendó al Comité Olímpico Internacional la inclusión de Surfing al programa para los Juegos Olímpicos Tokio 2020.

Por esta razón, las naciones de las Américas ahora más que nunca deben reunirse y tomar importantes decisiones para la participación en ambos eventos.

Las categorías que participarán en los PANAMERICANOS CLARO OPEN 2015 son:

  • Open Surfing (Varones y Damas)
  • Juniors Sub 20 (válido solamente para ALAS)
  • Longboard (Varones y Damas)
  • SUP Surf (Varones y Damas)
  • Bodyboard prone (Varones y Damas)
  • Bodyboard Dropknee (Varones)
  • SUP Race (Varones y Damas)
  • Prone Race (Varones y Damas)

PASA invita a los atletas y a las federaciones nacionales a enviar a sus representantes para ser parte de este histórico evento y trabajar todos juntos hacia el sueño olímpico.

CRONOGRAMA DEL EVENTO:

  • 25 de Noviembre, Conferencia de Prensa en el Club Waikiki – 11am.
  • 30 de Noviembre, Llegada de las delegaciones.
  • 01 de Diciembre, Inscripción de equipos – Reunión de Team Managers.
  • 01 de Diciembre, Cena de bienvenida en Punta Hermosa (Cafae / Club Nautico / Don Angelo).
  • 02 de Diciembre, Empieza el evento hasta el 06.
  • 03 de Diciembre, Premiación – Categoría Bodyboard.
  • 05 de Diciembre, Fiesta privada en Moana – Pico Alto / Punta Hermosa. 7pm
  • 06 de Diciembre, Ceremonia de clausura.

PASA announces the 2015 PAN-AMERICAN CLARO OPEN

Dear surfers,

With great pleasure, the Pan-American Surf Association (PASA) announces the official dates of the 2015 PAN-AMERICAN CLARO OPEN.

From December 2 to the 6, the perfect waves of Punta Rocas, in Lima, Peru, the most important competition of Surfing in the Americas will be held, where the new team and individual champions of the continent will be crowned.

This event will be the first competition for national teams of the Americas, towards the qualification to the Pan American Games Lima 2019. During this competition important meetings between the leaders of the surfing national governing bodies and PASA will decide the form and place where the qualifying competition to Lima 2019 will be held.

For this edition of the Pan American Surfing Games, PASA will unite with the Latin American Surfing Professionals Association (ALAS, in spanish), to give the competitors the chance to win money prizes, and points for the Latin Tour ranking.

This will be an open event, any athlete can register and compete through its respective national federation.

In order that an athlete can compete for cash prizes, the only requirement is to pay the respective registration to the category he/she wishes to compete in. However, if a participant only wishes to compete for the Pan American Surfing Titles, without competing for the money prize, his/her participation will be completely free of charge.

$20,000 USD will be distributed in prizes to the Open category, the rest of the categories will distribute the total amount of the registration fee to the four finalists.

All the inscriptions to the CLARO OPEN 2015 must be completed throught the ALAS website (click here).

Our beloved sport in going through golden times, and big positive changes are near. The good news started past July, when the General Assembly of the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) voted in favor of the inclusion of Surfing in the upcoming Pan American Games, scheduled to be held in Lima, Peru, in 2019.

And past September, the organization of Tokyo 2020 recommended to the International Olympic Committee the inclusion of the sport of Surfing to the Sports Programme of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

For this reason, the nations of the Americas more than ever must unite and take important decisions about the participation in both events.

The participating categories for the 2015 PAN-AMERICAN CLARO OPEN are:

  • Open Surfing (Men and Women)
  • Juniors Under 20 (valid only for ALAS competition)
  • Longboard (Men and Women)
  • SUP Surf (Men and Women)
  • Bodyboard prone (Men and Women)
  • Bodyboard Dropknee
  • SUP Race (Men and Women)
  • Prone Race (Men and Women)

The Pan-American Surf Association invites all the athletes and governing bodies of the Americas to send their representatives to be part of this historic event  and all together work towards the Olympic dream.

  • November 24th, Press Conference at Club Waikiki – 11am.
  • November 30th, Delegation arrivals.
  • December 1st, Team registration – Team Managers meeting
  • December 1st, Welcome Dinner in Punta Hermosa (Cafae / Club Nautico / Don Angelo).
  • December 2nd to December 6th, competition days.
  • December 3rd, Award Ceremony – Bodyboard category.
  • December 5th, Private party in Moana – Pico Alto / Punta Hermosa. 7pm
  • December 6th, Closing ceremony.
